I Love Tree Braids and Crochet Braids

Hi Original Beauties!

Hope your day is as awesome as you are! As you can tell by the title, I absolutely love Tree Braids and Crochet Braids. In my opinion, these two hair extension options are the ULTIMATE protective styles. There is no need to worry about blending your own hair with a weave or “covering tracks” since your hair is completely and totally protected. When the style is complete, the hair will literally appear to be growing from your scalp. Tree Braids and Crochet Braids can be styled like your own hair and they’re very versatile. You can experiment with colors and different textures while keeping your hair healthy. In addition, there are many twist, braid, and loc options that can be done in less than half the time it takes to do traditional braid, twist, or faux loc styles. Any style is achievable: up-dos, French twist/braids, high ponytails and more!

Crochet braids are strand-by-strand hair extension on a cornrow base using bulk weave hair. First, your own hair is styled into cornrows. The extension hair is then securely interlaced, a few strands at a time, into each cornrow.

Tree braids require a more advanced technique. The extension hair is added while your own natural hair is being cornrowed. The extension hair, like tree branches (hence the name) covers the cornrows. Human hair can also be used for increased versatility.

Why not a traditional hair weave?

Traditional sew-in weaves have been an option for many wanting to add volume or length, but there are some drawbacks:

  • A traditional weave can make the client feel as though she is wearing a helmet.

  • The hair left out must be blended by manipulation with heat, products, or chemicals to match the texture or color of the hair extensions.

  • The scalp is hidden for 6-8 weeks, or sometimes even longer, making proper hair maintenance challenging.

  • Wefts sewn too tightly can pull at the hair from the follicle (root) which may cause permanent hair loss.

  • Wefts can cause hair breakage by rubbing on the scalp.

Benefits Include

  • Minimal to no shedding.

  • You will have easy and complete access to your scalp for cleansing and moisturizing.

  • With proper care, style can last up to 2 months.

  • Your own hair is protected.

  • You can cleanse and moisturize your own hair as often as you want.

  • Adding more hair to create highlights/lowlights is quick and easy.

  • No need to manipulate your hair to blend with extension hair.

  • Truly wake up and go hair!

  • Great for busy moms and college students. This protective style is also an excellent professional look for the workplace.

Crochet Braids/Tree Braids Hair Extensions Care

To ensure maximum hair health and style longevity:

  • Cleanse your hair and scalp at least twice a month.

  • Apply oil or moisture to your own hair (cornrows) 1-3 times a week or as needed.

  • Braid/twist the hair at night and cover with silk/satin scarf or bonnet.

You can see there are many reasons to love this protective style. Try it for yourself, I am sure you will love it too!
